Taste and See that the Lord is GOOD! Ps. 34:8a

Menu

We can (and should) daily EXPERIENCE God!

We all NEED God, continually NEEDING more of Him! Without receiving the sustenance He provides, we will not truly live.

Mission

My mission is to give people a taste of the Lord's goodness in order to create a hunger and thirst within them for God and His righteousness. (See Ps. 34:8 + Mt. 5:6)

JESUS is LORD and I am your servant for His sake!

How do we taste God? What does it mean to hunger and thirst for Him?

Developing a hunger for God is developing a desire for His WORD! “Your words were found, and I ate them, and your words became to me a joy and the delight of my heart, for I am called by your name, O LORD, God of hosts.“ (Jer. 15:16 ESV)

Developing a thirst for God is developing a desire to be in His presence (which is possible through prayer, praise, and being led by the precious Spirit of God in what we say and do.) “He will drink from the brook by the wayside; Therefore He will lift up His head [triumphantly].” (Ps. 110:7 AMP)

Both a desire for the Word and the Spirit is what we each should cultivate and maintain. This is the Father’s will for us, through His Word and His Spirit we will know, and delight in Him and He will know and delight in us.

By these measures, we continue to enjoy our friendship and partnership with God, and it is from that communion that we learn God’s ways and receive the wisdom needed to see His good plan for our lives fulfilled! “‘Blessed [joyful, nourished by God’s goodness] are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness [those who actively seek right standing with God], for they will be [completely] satisfied.’” (Mt. 5:6 AMP - emphasis mine)

“It was when I was happiest that I longed most…The sweetest thing in all my life has been the longing…to find the place where all the beauty came from.” (Till We Have Faces)

TAKE UP HIS CROSS DAILY

“Saying, The Son of man must suffer many things, and be rejected of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be slain, and be raised the third day. And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me. For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: but whosoever will lose his life for my sake, the same shall save it. For what is a man advantaged, if he gain the whole world, and lose himself, or be cast away? For whosoever shall be ashamed of me and of my words, of him shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he shall come in his own glory, and in his Father's, and of the holy angels.” (Lk. 9:22-26 KJV - emphasis mine - See Mt. 16:19-28)

One of the first things that I (Patricia) can remember learning from Hebrews is my need to “TODAY” hear God’s voice. Every day I wake up is a new today, a today in which it is vitally important I hear from God. (See Heb. 3 +4)

“‘Blessed [joyful, nourished by God’s goodness] are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness [those who actively seek right standing with God], for they will be [completely] satisfied.’” (Mt. 5:6 AMP - emphasis mine)

I used to wish I was stable, but I didn’t do what produces stability. I no longer wish for stability. I am stable. I am fixed, strong, and dependable. I will not crumble or fall apart. I will go the distance with God.

Here it is. This is it, stability, the ability to stand for God, withstanding any attack: “Today I will listen for God. No matter what comes, no matter the inconsistencies of life, this is a constant. I’m going to hear from God, and I am going to obey.“

If I need to deny myself, I will. I will obey. Daily I will pick up my own tailored made cross, unconcerned that it looks different from yours, I will pick it up and follow Jesus.

It is not only by faith those who have gone before me have won, it is by faith and patience. With a tenacity and fortitude, with endurance, I will be rewarded.

I am a child of God Almighty. The Holy Spirit lives in me. I’ve got my eyes trained on my Master Jesus. I walk progressively forward. I walk into, more and more into, everyday into, the god-kind of life.

What will you do?

Through Jesus’ death, burial, and resurrection, the Father offers you life, a really good life, but it is not the one you planned to live. He offers you a life of righteousness, a life living in conformity to Him, living out His will. He offers you your very own cross. Will you follow?

This is life. It’s very good. You won’t find better. And although God doesn’t owe it to us, although we could never earn it or deserve it, although it’s unmerited, it is a gift that comes with a cost: “Whoever does not carry his own cross [expressing a willingness to endure whatever may come] and follow after Me [believing in Me, conforming to My example in living and, if need be, suffering or perhaps dying because of faith in Me] cannot be My disciple.” (Lk. 14:27 AMP - See vs. 28-33 - V. 28 mentions counting the cost)

Believe in Jesus. Believe in His message. Believe He died for your sins and rose from the dead. Believe the Son of God lives loving you today. He is. He is loving you. He did die for you. He is living and calling out to you. He’s saying: “Come, follow me.”

Believe and receive Him as Lord. Pick up your cross!
